In 1982 Buddy Rich hosted a jazz series pilot for television. He filmed three episodes at the
Statler Hotel in New York City with Mel Torme, Ray Charles, Gerry Mulligan, Woody Herman, Anita
oday, Lionel Hampton, and Stan Getz. The show never aired. The film was actually never even edited
and is now in pristine condition. Although the footage will not be released until 2009, Drum Channel
